LESSON PLANS - BODY PARTS- TPR

Mr. Potatohead - Señor Papa

Pass out the body parts and ask:
¿Quién tiene el brazo? Students lift it up and say "el brazo".

Or make the Mr. Potatohead. Divide class into 2 teams. Have a race to see who can complete Mr. Patatohead first.

Simon dice- Simon Says

Play classic Simon Says.

Teacher calls out "Simon dice... following a body part in target language. Students point to, touch or move correct part. If teacher just calls out body part without saying "Simon dice....", students who pointed, moved or touched the body part are out and sit down.

Construction Paper Squares

Have envelopes that are filled with squares of color construction paper ready for each student.

Teacher starts to call out different colors to be placed on different body parts. Students try to keep up by adding more and more colored squares on their bodies whithout dropping them.

Ex. Red on the shoulder, light blue on the knee, etc.

Meet Juan, our life size classroom doll. I use him in my classroom to reinforce body part vocabulary.

Students are called up individually to touch his eyes, nose, hands, etc. They also jump over legs, arms, head or stomach. As a reward or "punishment" students might have to dance with him as well. :)
