Introduce vocabulary via TPR
- Gestures
- Model " siéntense mal" ( slouched over, feet up or any other way students come up with) and "siéntense bien" (Sitting up straight, feet In front, hands in lap)
Practice making transition between siéntense bien and siéntense mal. Take picture of class in both positions.
- Flashcards/pictures of vocabulary
- Questioning (Circling)
- While showing the different flashcards
- ¿Son ojos? (showing a picture of ojos) Si
- ¿Son ojos ? (showing a picture of manos) No
- ¿Son ojos o manos? (showing a picture of ojos) Ojos
- ¿Son ojos? (showing a picture of ojos) Si
- ¿Levanta la mano? Si/no
- ¿Levanta la mano o levanta los ojos? La mano
- ¿Levanta la mano?
- Reinforce vocabulary via games
- Show down
2 students stand facing away from each other (It adds to the atmosphere if both have a Cowboy hat on). Teacher counts : Uno-dos- tres - while the students take three dramatic steps away from each other. Teach then calls out a vocabulary word. Students turn around as fast as they can and "show" the correct gesture. The student who showed the gesture the fastest earns the right to challenge the next student.
- Matamoscas (with picture/ flashcards)
Attach photo flashcards to board or wall. 2 Students come up to board, each with a flyswatter in hand. Students will face teacher, back to the board. As soon as teacher calls out one vocabulary word, students turn around and "swatter" the correct flashcard. Student, who does this first, earns one point and the right to stay at board, to be challenged by a new student. Prize winner, if earned three (or 5) consecutive points.
- OJO
Put many small flashcards in caja magica. Let students fish one card out. If they can identify word, they get to keep the card. If they fish out "Ojos" then they have return ALL earned cards back into caja magica. At end of class, cards can be redeemed for M&Ms.
- Thumbs up/ Thumbs down
Teacher does TPR gesture and says a vocabulary word. Students show thumbs up or thumbs down of the gesture was for the correct word.
- Simon dice
- 3 Filas
Students form three lines facing the teacher. Teacher then calls out a vocabulary word. The first student in each line, then need to gesture the vocab as fast as they can. Teacher decides who did it first, the students receives a point and all three students go to the back of the line. Teacher then says a vocab word for the next three students who are at the beginning of the line. Students keep track of their own points. When they have accumulated 3 (or 5) points they receive a candy.

- One line at a time. Student echo teacher
- Teacher and students practice together. Teacher leaves a word out every so often. Students will chime correct word in
- Model the hand motions that go with the song
- Sing it deeeesssspaaaaciiiooooooo
- Sing it rápido
- Sing it normal
- Students sit in a circle. Assign each student one word. Then go around circle until chant is complete.

Vocabulary
- Ojos -- Point to eyes
- Mano -- Show hands
- Mira -- index fingers point to the eyes, then shoot forward towards what you are looking at
- Maestra --point to teacher
- Levanta -- lift your hand
- Baja --- lower your hand
- Escucha -- cup one hand behind your ear
- Sienta --sit down

- Take digital pictures of students performing the gesture vocabulary. Enlarge to turn into Flashcards. Create x-small flashcards, multiply to have many copies available for different games
- Microphone / Video camera to record students chanting and acting
