Games & Activities Rhymes Signal Chants Mnemonic Devices Music Bulletin Boards		LESSON TIPS - GAMES & ACTIVITIES- VOCABULARY Sillas (Chairs) Arange three to five chairs on the inside of a BIG circle of your students (amount of chairs varies according to the grade level and space you have available) Tape one image of a vocabulary word you are reinforcing to the back of the chair OR Place stuffed animals on these chairs OR Colored construction paper Pick 2-3 students to come to the middle of the circle. Teacher calls out vocabulary words in target language and the students have to race to touch the appropriate chair. Teacher then will call the words out faster and faster Tips : To make the game more fun try to "trick" them by calling the word out of the chair that they are already standing Use several vocabulary words that match the same chair. Ex. One one chair is a Beanie Babie of a bear. Call out "bear", next time call out the color of the bear. Next time call "big", etc.
